The North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle (NACTOY) Awards jury has revealed its list of 25 semifinalists for its annual award. The candidates include 10 cars, 10 multi-use vehicles and five trucks.
The list was selected from a total of 52 eligible vehicles, and the finalists were announced at the Detroit Auto Show. Now, the list will be further winnowed, until each category has only three finalists, which will be announced in November, on November 16 in Los Angeles.
Currently, the list contains eight electric cars, including the BMW i5, Hyundai Ioniq 6, Chevrolet Silverado EV, Chevrolet Blazer, Chevrolet Equinox EV, Genesis Electrified GV70, Kia EV9, and Volvo EX30.

Finalists will be evaluated by a 50-member judging panel. NACTOY claims that because these jurors have a diverse range of preferences, viewpoints and judging criteria, they come together to create a group of experts whose opinions represent a fair and impartial view of the automotive world.
Jurors will be given the opportunity to drive all of the vehicles on this list on a comparison ride in Michigan later this year. The final winners of this year’s Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle Awards will be announced in Detroit on January 4, 2024.
