A Maine man has been reported missing and was found trapped inside a truck under a bridge in Dover, New Hampshire.
A Sanford, Maine, man is recovering after police say he was found trapped inside his truck in Dover. First responders said it appeared his truck landed on a corner of a muddy embankment behind a sandpit. “People in the public generally don’t have access to this. This is like an area that you want to get rid of the shoveling and sand and dirt and stuff that city workers use and things like that. “But I don’t know how he got in here,” said Lt. Patrick Simmons of the Dover Fire Department. Robert Brown, 65, was reported missing on Friday after his wife said he dropped her off at work in Rochester on Thursday, and she had not seen him since, police in Sanford, Maine, said. Investigators said they called his phone in Dover, but he was dead. First responders received a phone call from a pair of hunters on Saturday who discovered the truck while walking through the woods. “Hunters had already found the car, but we came up here and saw the tracks had gone down the hill and then we got over the hill and we could see the car down the hill there,” said Lt. Patrick Simons with the Dover Fire Department. They said the vehicle’s rear wheels were stuck in the mud, and Brown was trapped inside, still wearing his seat belt. “He wasn’t on his side. He was completely upright, but on the driver’s side he was leaning down,” Simmons said. “We were able to get to the patient in the car by walking up the hill. After assessing the patient’s mental state for injury, we were able to load him into a Stokes basket and were able to carry him up the hill. Firefighters said Brown was unable to answer many questions. He was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Investigators are still looking into how this happened.
