A new theory emerges in the Alan Ruck pizza shop crash in Hollywood
The accident between Succession and Ferris Bueller actor Alan Ruck may have been related to high-tech features in his electric pickup truck, law enforcement sources told TMZ.
Rack, 67, was pulled over behind another car at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue on Halloween night when his Rivian R1T suddenly lurched forward and hit the car in front of him.
His truck then swerved across lanes of traffic, striking another vehicle before crashing into the wall of Ravalo’s Pizza.
No one inside the restaurant was injured, and no one in any of the vehicles was seriously injured.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told KTLA that Rock cooperated with police, who were quick to rule out the possibility that the actor was intoxicated or had committed a crime.
He told witnesses at the scene that he had no idea what happened.
According to TMZ, law enforcement sources believe the crash could be related to “the fact that Alan’s truck, a Rivian R1T, is brand new and very high-tech,” the entertainment news site reported.
The exact reason behind the truck’s acceleration is still unknown.
KTLA reached out to Rivian for a statement on Tuesday.
A company spokesman said: “Our internal inspection found no indication of a defect and the vehicle is performing as designed.” “We are fully cooperating with local law enforcement’s ongoing investigation into the incident.”
