Carson City Deputies Make Felony Arrests on Alleged DUI 3rd Charge, Battery with a Deadly Weapon | Carson city nevada news

A 59-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of his third DUI, according to a Carson City Police Office booking report.

Kelly Davis was taken into custody at 4:45 p.m. following an investigation. According to the report, deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of North Carson Street for a report that an accident had occurred in the casino parking lot and that the driver may have been intoxicated.

Deputies arrived and contacted the informant who said she was in her vehicle on a smoke break and saw a white Ford Extended cab hit the back of a parked Toyota Tacoma. Then the Ford parked a few spots to take up four spaces.

The driver of the Ford was later located outside, where he got into the passenger side of another vehicle. One of the deputies asked the driver of that car who the man who was with him was. He stated that his friend was drunk so he was driving him home, according to the report.

Deputies asked the suspected driver of the Ford to exit the vehicle. The man had red watery eyes, slurred speech, and a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his body. He was unsteady on his feet. The officer asked the man if he would perform field sobriety tests. The report stated that the man did not answer.

When they approached the suspect’s truck, he was asked if it was his. “Just take me to jail,” the man told the deputy. He was asked if he was going to have tests and the man asked why. The officer asked him if he refused to undergo tests, and he said yes. He agreed to an initial breath test with a result of 0.221. He said he knew he would go to prison, the report said.

Blood samples were taken in prison. The man was booked for third-time drunk driving with a previous felony conviction. Bail: $20,000.

– A 43-year-old man was arrested early Monday on suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon, according to a Carson City Police Office booking report.

Travis Long of Mound House was taken into custody at 2:32 a.m. following the investigation that led to his arrest. According to the report, at 1:49 a.m., Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a gas station in the 3900 block of Highway 50 East for a report of a vehicle crash.

The reporting party, Travis Long, reported that he had just collided with another vehicle and then hung up the phone. Another caller called 911 and reported that Travis Long did not hit the vehicle.

Deputies arrived on scene and saw a Ford F150 parked behind a Scion XB. The Scion was parked in a parking space in front of the gas station and the Ford was in its path. The deputy approached the vehicle and one of the people got out of the cell. There was moderate damage to the Scion’s rear door. It was apparent that the Ford had collided with the Scion due to the damage, the arrest report states.

Deputies interviewed the descendant’s owner and the suspect. They both know each other through a family member. Through investigation, the suspect said that he intentionally hit the car. He was arrested on suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon. Bail: $30,000.

A 34-year-old man was arrested early Monday on suspicion of petit larceny and defrauding a hotel owner.

According to the booking report, deputies were called to a casino in the 3800 block of South Carson Street for a report of a person who ordered a meal at a casino restaurant and left without paying. Staff provided a description of the suspect as well as surveillance video footage and meal receipts.

At approximately 12:49 a.m., deputies found the suspect matching the description at a gas station in the 4100 block of South Carson Street. Deputies contacted the man who had Mike’s Hard Lemonade in his sweatshirt. He was arrested. A deputy spoke with the cashier at the gas station and learned that the man entered the business and approached the counter with several Mike’s Hard Lemonades.

The suspect asked the cashier if he would loan him money to pay for the alcohol. The cashier answered no and the suspect left the store. The cashier stated he went to return the alcohol and noticed one was missing from the shelf. The drink cost $2.29. The meal at the casino was $26.87. The suspect was booked on suspicion of defrauding a hotel owner and petty theft. Bail: $654.

– A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of DUI, open container, unsafe left turn and obstructing traffic.

According to the booking report, deputies conducted a traffic stop at South Carson Street and Overland Street. The vehicle was westbound from Snyder and went straight through the intersection at South Carson, which was marked as right only from Snyder, blocking oncoming traffic. The vehicle continued westbound, onto Overland Avenue, and eventually stopped on the left side of Overland Avenue, the report states.

A deputy contacted the driver and could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle. The man’s eyes were red and watery. He was asked if he had been drinking. The man stated that he drank four types of beer. He agreed to take field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test of .204 and was arrested. Bail: $1,833.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday for a misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence order. Bail: $1,000.

– A 35-year-old man, Logan Matthew Schwartz, was arrested Thursday on a felony warrant alleging uttering or possession with intent to utter a fictitious bill or note and forgery. Arrest warrants were issued out of Carson City Justice Court.

– A 45-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday on a misdemeanor battery charge. The arrest warrant was issued out of Carson City Justice Court.

– A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of misdemeanor violating alternative sentencing, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,000 cash.
