Dodge breaks its record for consecutive finishes atop the annual J.D. Power US Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study of mass-market brands with a first-place result in the 2023 edition.

Dodge holds the top spot in APEAL for the fourth year in a row, after becoming the only brand to hold the top of the mass market rankings for three consecutive years in 2022.

On the heels of earning the top spot among mass-market brands in this year’s J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS), Dodge also repeats that it is the only domestic brand to top both mass-market rankings in the same year.

Ram, which finished just behind Dodge in this year’s IQS test, ranks second in APEAL for the fourth year in a row.

Given Ram’s No. 1 ranking in 2019, this marks the fifth consecutive year that it and Dodge shared the top two overall market rankings in APEAL, which measures customer feedback on the current model’s attributes — from exterior design to fuel efficiency — during the year. the first. Dodge and Ram’s performance defies industry trend in this year’s APEAL study. Against the backdrop of the overall decline, Dodge and Ram’s results in 2022 improved by five and 10 points, respectively.

Each brand also scores a podium finish among the APEAL study sector results. The 2023 Dodge Challenger ranks highest in the mid-size sports car category, while the 2023 Ram 1500 ranks second among large light pickup trucks.

“Dodge didn’t win this award, we accepted it on behalf of the Brotherhood,” says Tim Kuniskis, CEO of the Dodge brand and CEO of the Ram brand – Stellantis. “We listened to them and learned from them. These lessons will inform our product development as we redefine American muscle for the next era.”

As part of the Stellantis Dare Forward initiative, Dodge and Ram join the company’s other brands by embarking on a strategic electrification drive.

The first push from Dodge comes in the form of the all-new 2024 Hornet CUV, which includes the R/T Hybrid model – the brand’s first electric performance vehicle.

Meanwhile, Ram is advancing a pair of battery electric vehicles that cover a wide range of duty cycles – the Ram ProMaster electric pickup truck and the Ram 1500 REV full-size light-duty pickup truck.
