Florida deputies warn of Booty Patrol truck.

DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Deputies in DeSoto County, Florida are asking drivers to keep an eye out for the “Booty Patrol” — a white truck they accuse of impersonating law enforcement.
The Chevy Silverado, equipped with red and blue lights, also impersonated officials in “several” other Florida counties, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
The Silverado is described as having several green stickers, including some that say “Booty Patrol” around the truck. One of the photos shared by deputies appears to show the words “Protecting National Spoils Behavior” on the passenger door.
In addition to the “Booty Patrol” stickers, the truck also features a sticker that looks like a social media handle that matches the TikTok and Instagram accounts that also contain photos of the “Booty Patrol” truck.
The truck’s license plate found in online videos also appears to match the truck’s license plate described by DeSoto County deputies.
“If you or someone you know have been stopped by this suspicious vehicle or have any information regarding these incidents, please do not hesitate to contact the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 863-993-4700.” he wrote on Facebook.
When contacted, the public information officer for the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office did not reveal whether the truck operators had in fact stopped any other motorists, or what charges they might face. But she confirmed that officers noticed the car flashing its red and blue lights on Monday. Deputies also contacted the driver during the traffic stop and issued a citation, she said.
The case is now being investigated by the state’s attorney, according to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office.
Meanwhile, photos of similarly decorated trucks and cars have been shared on Reddit and Facebook in recent years, including at least one photo with a different Instagram handle.
“Seems official to me,” one person joked on Reddit.
