A 4-door sedan is the vehicle body type most vulnerable to a severe collision in Georgia, according to a new study conducted by Bader Scott personal injury attorneys.
By analyzing fatal crash data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), experts calculated and ranked the types of car bodies involved in the most serious crashes from 2017 to 2021.
4-door sedans top the list, with the vehicle type involved in 3,519 accidents from 2017 to 2021, representing 30.12% of all fatal accidents. By definition, a sedan is any closed-roof vehicle whose rear interior volume is greater than or equal to 33 cubic feet. Second on the list is Light Pickup, with 2,049 crashes, equivalent to 17.54% of all fatal crashes in the state.
