Masshole Lobster told their dedicated social media followers that one of their two food trucks in San Antonio (they also have a third in Shreveport) was stolen in the early hours of Thursday, November 9th. These were taken from Local Sprout Food. The Hub, located just down the road from St. Paul Square, is at 503 Chestnut Street, San Antonio, TX 78202.

Owner Adam Bilecki’s wife, Susan, told MySA that the alleged thief towed the truck away using a Hummer. Surveillance video provided by the Bylickis family shows a man untying a cable in one video from the Local Sprout Food Hub. In another surveillance video, a man (it is unclear whether it is the same man or someone else) is shown driving the Masshole truck using the aforementioned cable and attaching it to the Hummer.

The Bylickis were able to recover the truck near 36th Street near Kelly Air Force Base and Marbach. They recovered other items from the truck near Hunt Lane. It is unclear whether the alleged thief has been arrested as of Monday, November 13.

Adam told MySA that they realized various items had been stolen from inside the truck after they recovered it. In addition to the refrigerator being stolen, the Baylekis noted that the freezer, POS system, generator, propane tank, fryers, pots and lights (inside and out) were also gone.

“Even the dirty dishes were taken,” Adam added.

Although the couple were left frustrated by the incident and had to cancel events they had planned, they were determined to get the truck back up and running as soon as possible.

Eager to once again cook food from both trucks for their loyal customers, the Bylickis emphasized the need for support at the only food truck currently operating in San Antonio. Having been in business for three years, Adam and Susan want to keep their lobster rolls hot for years to come.

MySA has reached out to SAPD for more information.
