The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is a large electric SUV based on the similarly sized EQE saloon. It becomes available to order in the UK in 2023.
Like the saloon version, the EQE SUV has been praised for its competitive battery pack and interior ambiance, both big factors in its favour.
However, the EQE SUV has also faced criticism. like Electric driveTom Jervis sums up, “The Mercedes EQE SUV has a giant touchscreen, fast charging, plenty of storage space, and — to its detriment — a hefty price tag.” Peer reviewers agree, pointing out that the Mercedes is expensive, especially since the entry-level version of the luxury BMW iX is more than £20,000 cheaper.
Additionally, others have noted that this SUV doesn’t compete well with its executive saloon counterpart either. He described the EQE SUV as a “disappointment” TelegraphAndrew English of English argues that it “wasn’t that much fun to drive” and that it “doesn’t have the great driving dynamics of its EQE saloon sibling.”
Despite the strong competition… ParkerEQE’s Alan Taylor-Jones adds that the EQE SUV “certainly has some things going for it”, concluding that the car has “plenty of space inside to accommodate people, and the boot is large enough for most people”. Although you’d expect that given its high price, it also notes that “base models get a lot of equipment.”

“The Mercedes EQE SUV certainly has some things going for it. There’s plenty of space inside for people, and the trunk is big enough for most people. Even base models get a lot of kit, while the performance and range offered by the batteries and motors is good if not Exceptional compared to other electric SUVs.
