Rivian customers have previously raised concerns about their batteries dying when vehicles are left idle, a phenomenon known as “vampirism” or “phantom drain.”

Improving energy drain is a key priority for Rivian, he said I am Al-Jaafari, who leads the team responsible for improving the issue at Rivian, said in an Instagram Q&A posted in April. They added that the company aims to reduce the impact of vampire drain on the user experience and ensure reliability when activating the car by turning off components that have the greatest impact on power drain.

Other changes: Other improvements in the new update include the option to use the multi-function thumb controls on the left side of the steering wheel to mute the microphone, switch between calls, or even press the current button to accept another call. Furthermore, drivers will now enjoy a better driving experience with less abruptness when driving over sharp road impacts and less harshness when driving over bumps and inclines.
