New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 12:42 PM on November 5, 2023 at Highway 14 and Jacobs Street. Cameron Randolph, 41, Sanborn, was driving a 2015 Jeep Compass eastbound on Interstate 14, turned northbound on Jacobs Street and was struck by a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser westbound on Interstate 14 by Christopher Brock, 49, Arlington. The damage was severe to both front ends of the vehicle. A 51-year-old New Ulm woman suffered a head injury and was transported to New Ulm Medical Center by Allina Ambulance. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 100 block of North Broadway at 2:06 p.m. on November 6. Richard Domer, 86, of New Ulm, was driving a 2010 Ford pickup on Center Street, attempted to turn north on Broadway and collided with a semi trailer being towed by a 2011 Peterbilt semi driven by Joshua Feldheij, 22, St. Cloud. The damage was moderate to the front end of the Ford and moderate to the semi-trailer’s right rear tires.

• Responded to a report of an assault at 1:33 p.m. on November 6 at 1100 N. 16th Street. A 36-year-old New Ulm woman said she was assaulted two days ago but didn’t know who did it and didn’t appear to be hurt. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• A report was received from the Brown County Auditor/Treasurer’s Office at 4:22 PM on November 6. A changed check was intercepted. No suspect has been reported. The incident is under investigation.

• A domestic report was responded to at 6:49 p.m. on November 6 in the 1500 block of Elmwood Ave. Between a 50-year-old New Ulm man and a 56-year-old New Ulm woman. The man was said to have made threats. He was taken to New Ulm Medical Center. Reports have been sent to Brown County Human Services and the Brown County Prosecutor’s Office.

• A report of suspicious activity was received at 8:42 a.m. Nov. 7 at CR 10 and 150th Street in Alpine Township. A trailer was found containing scrap metal, and then it wasn’t there. A report was prepared for documentation.

Rainville County Sheriff’s Office

• A report of a single-car crash was received at 10:33 a.m. Nov. 7 on CR 6, about a quarter mile north of CR 15, and about 9 miles south of Rainville, Flora Township. A 2020 Peterbilt driven by Dustin Cronbach, 39, Lumberton, was southbound on CR 6, blew a tire, entered the ditch and rolled. Cronbach suffered minor injuries and did not need to be transported to the hospital. The half jars were considered a complete loss. Assisting at the scene were the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Renville Police, Fire Ambulance and Central Care.

All three drivers were wearing seat belts. The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, Vista Fire/Ambulance and North Memorial Marshals assisted. Alcohol was not involved.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 212 and 560th Street, Preston Lake Township, Renville County, at 11:56 a.m. Nov. 5. A 2008 Buick Lucerne eastbound on Highway 212 was struck by Mark Michael Walter, 60, Bird Island. With a 1998 Toyota Tacoma driven by Jamie Louise Brandt, 33, Redfield, one vehicle crossed the center line, causing the collision.

The Buick’s passenger, Lauren Rose Hodge, 60, of Rainville, and Walter were transported to North Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Hodge was not wearing a seat belt. Brandt was taken to Glencoe Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Buick, Jonathan Kelly Hodge, 23, Sacred Heart, suffered non-life-threatening injuries but was not transported to a health care facility. Alcohol was not involved. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
