Price compared to Creta, Seltos and others
Stellantis-owned French carmaker Citroën India has finally launched the all-new C3 Aircross in India. For now, the company has only revealed the price of the base model of this new compact SUV, and it starts at Rs 9.99 lakh. This price makes the new Citroën C3 Aircross the most affordable mid-size SUV in India. It undercuts all the popular SUVs in this segment like the champion Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara among others.

Priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the all-new Citroën beats segment champions Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos by Rs 88,000 and Rs 91,000 respectively. The base variant prices of both the cars are Rs 10.87 lakh and Rs 10.90 lakh respectively as well.

The Citroën C3 Aircross also undercuts previous affordable models from Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. The C3 Aircross is cheaper than the Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder by Rs 70,000 and Rs 86,000. The ex-showroom prices of these two mid-sized SUVs for their base variants are around Rs 10.70 and Rs 10.86 lakh respectively.
Aside from these four popular compact SUVs, the C3 Aircross also outperforms the MG Astor. The British automaker’s Astor retails at Rs 10.82 lakh for its base variant. Until the launch of the new C3 Aircross, it was the second most affordable base version of all mid-size SUVs.
Finally, the Citroën C3 Aircross also undercuts Czech carmaker Skoda’s Kushaq and German carmaker Volkswagen Taigun’s base variants as well. Prices of both the cars are Rs 11.59 lakh and Rs 11.62 lakh (ex-showroom). The Citroën C3 Aircross is cheaper than these two Czech and German SUVs by Rs 1.6 lakh and Rs 1.63 lakh respectively.
As mentioned, at the moment, the company has only revealed the price of the base model of the new C3 Aircross SUV. It is believed that the company will soon reveal the prices of the mid-spec and higher-spec models as well. In addition, the company has started bookings for the all-new SUV, which can be booked for Rs 25,000 at the nearest Citroen dealer or by visiting the brand’s official website.
The new Citroën C3 Aircross comes with only one engine option. The company currently offers the C3 Aircross with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, shared with its ICE hatchback C3 sibling. This engine is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission, generating a maximum power of 110 horsepower and 190 Nm of maximum torque. A 6-speed torque converter is expected to join the C3 Aircross lineup at a later stage. However, at the moment, it is only offered with a manual gearbox.
In its base model, the new Citroën C3 Aircross is only available in a five-seat configuration; However, in the higher specs, it will also come in a 7-seater layout as well. The base-spec C3 Aircross misses out on premium features like roof-mounted AC vents, touchscreen infotainment system, speakers, reversing camera, rear wiper defogger and USB charging slots, which are offered on the Max model. Now, as for the features included in the base model, it comes with safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, electronic stability control, reversing sensors, and tire pressure monitoring system.
