HUBER HEIGHTS — A driver was hospitalized after crashing his pickup truck into a business early Friday morning.
Huber Heights police officers and paramedics were dispatched around 12:15 a.m. to the area of Brandt Pike and Taylorsville Road on initial reports that a vehicle had crashed into a building, the dispatcher told NewsCenter 7.

A new video premiered on Friday News Center 7 at 6 p.m It showed a wide shot of the shopping center’s parking lot shortly before the accident. The camera captured a man staggering slightly before leaning against the passenger side of a pickup truck in the parking lot. Then he backs up, walks around the truck and gets into the driver’s seat.
This pickup truck can be seen pulling out before turning 180 degrees and, without slowing down, crashing into Wayne Sporting Goods.
Paramedics took the victim to the hospital with minor injuries.
Store owner Brad Lewis got into a mess with wood, blocks and bricks everywhere. It’s hard for him to imagine that a drunk driver could have done all that.
“We have a local bar here in our parking lot. The person was trying to drive past our building, cutting off our parking lot to get out onto Taylorsville Road,” Lewis said, noting he had suspicions but was not accusing anyone.
Now, Lewis is trying to be positive and move forward. He hopes to have his business fully open again by Monday.
The accident is still under investigation.
