The 11 best adventure vehicles at the show: 2023 SEMA Show

I was invited and hosted by SEMA to attend this year’s show. It’s my 10th SEMA show, even Owning my own car is on display Three times in the past.

With about 160,000 people in attendance, 2,100 vendors, and a few thousand vehicles, the show was massive. It is not only one of the largest trade shows in the world, but also the largest car show in the world. It is specifically a trade show for the automotive aftermarket. But that’s slowly changing to also include a lot of public interaction around the automotive aftermarket industry, like this year Sima Festival.

As usual, I walked through almost every inch of the show to find you the most interesting adventure cars on display. Let’s dive into what I discovered!

AEV GMC Sierra Grande Concept

American mission vehicles (AEV) arrived at the 2023 SEMA Show with a concept vehicle showcasing a full lineup of new parts it makes for GMC and Chevrolet Heavy Duty (HD) pickups. It may sound familiar, because it’s basically GMC’s version of what AEV did with the RAM HD before.

The concept is called the AEV GMC Sierra Grande and is based on the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X Single Cab with a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel. It has front skid plates, IFS, and transmission protection, along with the prototype’s massive winch bumper.

Speaking of winches, it has one in the front and one in the back, under the custom 8-foot aluminum tray. New 40-inch BFG tires are wrapped around AEV Salta XD wheels and mounted under AEV HighMark fender flares. The build is completed with an AEV snorkel.

Although it’s just a concept, AEV could easily bring the Sierra Grande to market in limited quantities, as it has done in the past with a single cab, tray bed, and RAM variant. Either way, expect to see most parts of this concept truck Your local AEV dealer In 2024.

Vanderhall Brawley

The Brawley has been in development for more than two years and will be on the market in early 2024. Production takes place in Provo, Utah. Pricing starts at around $47,000. As shown at SEMA, it’s priced at about $52,000, including aftermarket wheels and tires (37s).
