The 2024 Cadillac Escalade gets Super Cruise for almost everyone

Cadillac is doing its best to reshape its image as a manufacturer of electric sports cars. But the brand’s best-selling vehicle for many years has been the full-size all-wheel drive Escalade. The three-row luxury car can be anything from a sleek highway cruiser to an unexpectedly huge performance car with a 4.4-second 0-60 time in the Escalade-V.

Cadillac will make almost no changes to next year’s model. The 2024 Escalade gets GM’s Super Cruise hands-free highway driving system as standard equipment on all but the base model.

Super Cruise comes as part of a package that includes adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, and reverse automatic emergency braking. Requires subscription to GM’s OnStar service to keep it running. The first three years are included with your purchase. You’ll then pay a monthly subscription fee, and we can’t tell you how much it will cost three years from now.

These, and some new paint options, are the only changes for 2024.

We were expecting to see an all-new Cadillac Escalade for the 2024 model year. But reports say it has been delayed for a year due to the fallout from the recently settled auto workers strike.

This isn’t bad news for buyers, as the current Escalade is selling so well because it represents the right answer for many buyers. Our reviewers praise its stylish, spacious interior (which “can double as a Manhattan studio apartment”) and impressive cabin technology.

But Cadillac will likely start offering the Eskie update in early 2024, once the strike is settled. The company recently unveiled an all-electric cousin, the 2025 Escalade IQ, which looks more modern and will join the showroom in late 2024. Cadillac almost certainly has a refresh in the works to keep the cash-flow-generating gas version competitive.
