The Eensy-Weensy VinFast VF3 EV will be sold in America

Vietnamese startup VinFast is launching an attack on the product. The VF8 crossover was launched in the U.S. last summer, and the larger VF9 SUV is scheduled for release this year. At CES 2024 this week in Las Vegas, the electric car maker surprised with a sharply designed truck concept called the VF Wild. But VinFast’s booth at CES also included a new production-ready model that will be sold in the United States: a cute little SUV called the VF3.

The boxy VF3 is reminiscent of the beloved Suzuki Jimny and stretches 125.6 inches long, more than 17 inches shorter than the little Fiat 500e that will go on sale in the U.S. in 2024. The VF3 is also 66.1 inches wide and 63.8 inches long, which could easily make it smaller Car for sale in America.

Along with the chunky wheel arches, the VF3 features VinFast V-shaped chrome trim front and rear and a two-tone roof highlighted by a “floating” B-pillar. The crossover rides on 16-inch wheels and appears to have a fair amount of ground clearance. VinFast has revealed almost no specifications but is aiming for a driving range of up to 125 miles.

The cabin seats four people and has a simple layout, with a single 10-inch screen behind the steering wheel – which runs Android Auto and Apple CarPlay – and a small set of buttons on the center console. The second row folds completely flat, increasing cabin space to 19.4 cubic feet.

The VF3 debuted in Vietnam last June, but the small, square SUV’s arrival at CES marks its global launch. While the company’s official line is that market-by-market delivery timings and pricing will be revealed in due course, Motor1 reports that a VinFast representative has specified that the VF3 will be sold in the US. A spokesman said Car News Last fall, the VF3 could start at less than $20,000, and an attractive price point may be necessary to get sales traction in America for such a small car.
