In India, Mercedes-Benz is offering the GLE in a 5-seater variant, instead of the optional 7-seater available globally.
Mercedes-Benz India has finally launched the 2023 GLE Facelift at a starting price of Rs 96.4 lakh (ex-showroom). The premium luxury SUV is available to order in three broad variants and two trim levels. If you’re interested in purchasing one, here’s a closer look at all the details:
The changes to the new GLE are subtle and you’ll need to take out a magnifying glass to spot the differences. Up front, it gets a revised bumper, a new single-slat grille, and updated LED headlights.
The side profile of the 2023 GLE remains largely unchanged, except for new alloys. It also features beautiful details such as illuminated running boards, which create a captivating atmosphere at night.
Coming back, there are minor changes to the bumper and taillights. As for color options, you have the option to choose from Obsidian Black, Polar White, Hi-Tech Silver, Sodalite Blue, and Selenite Grey.
Step inside the facelifted GLE, and you’ll notice that the changes are subtle. The overall design of the dashboard remains similar with updates in the form of a new steering wheel, chrome air vents, and the latest version of Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment system. As seen in other Mercedes cars, the electric seat controls are integrated into the door panel.
The 2023 GLE is equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and wireless Apple Carplay, a 12.3-inch full digital driver display, four-zone climate control, a power liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, and power-adjustable ventilated seats with seat memory function. Front, Burmester audio system consisting of 13 speakers.
The safety package includes nine airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and select advanced driver assistance systems features such as active brake assist and blind-spot monitoring.
You can configure your 2023 GLE with three powertrain options: a 269 hp/550 Nm 2-litre diesel, a 367 hp/750 Nm 3-litre diesel and a 381 hp/500 Nm 3-litre gasoline meter. All engines are coupled to a 9-speed automatic transmission and are equipped with four-wheel drive.
Prices for the 2023 GLE Facelift start at Rs 96.4 lakh and go up to Rs 1.15 lakh (all ex-showroom). It competes with the likes of the BMW X5, Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90.
