The new Peugeot 3008 electric car has a range of up to 435 miles and a dramatic design
Peugeot is replacing its hugely successful 3008 crossover with an all-new model that features electrification at the front. The new all-electric E-3008 is the latest chapter in the French brand’s shift to an all-electric future, which it plans to achieve by 2030.
What helps distinguish the new 3008 from its predecessors is the fastback design, which features a sloping roofline with an integrated spoiler. This is said to direct airflow over the rear window in an attempt to reduce drag and enhance the car’s aerodynamic efficiency.
The three-claw design that has become a Peugeot signature appears more clearly in the new car, as the LED daytime running lights form an extension of the headlight units in the front bumper. On the E-3008 EV, the Peugeot logo is surrounded by a mesh effect that includes body-colored sections to blend in with the vehicle’s bodywork.
Three different electric motors
Two batteries will be available on the E-3008, starting with a 73 kWh unit that will be offered in single- and dual-motor versions offering a driving range of up to 326 miles on the WLTP test cycle. The single-engine version has 207 horsepower, reaches 62 mph in 5.4 seconds from rest and a top speed of 105 mph.
Peugeot will offer an all-wheel drive version with two engines that use the same battery and are able to achieve the same driving range. Maximum power rises to 315 horsepower, while it accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds. The only downside to the dual-motor version is that the trunk volume is reduced to 470 liters from 520 liters in the standard version.

For those who need longer range between charges, the E-3008 Long Range model uses a 98 kWh battery that allows up to 435 miles. This version uses a 226bhp electric motor to maintain brisk performance, accelerating from 0 to 62mph in 5.5 seconds and matching the entry-level car’s top speed of 105mph.
The DC fast charging rate of up to 160 kW means that recharging the battery to 80 percent will take no more than 30 minutes. Peugeot also equips the E-3008 with 11kW AC charging capability as standard.
Exciting new 21-inch digital instrument panel
Once again, Peugeot makes a bold design statement inside the cabin with a new interpretation of the i-Cockpit design. The E-3008 will feature a 21-inch curved display that appears to float above the dashboard and combines the driver’s instruments with a touchscreen for the infotainment system. There is an additional section on the center console that houses ten customizable touch-sensitive buttons to access the user’s favorite functions. The new angular steering wheel features touch-sensitive buttons and maintains the compact size of the previous 3008.

Linda Jackson, Peugeot CEO, said: “The launch of the next-level E-3008 is a major step in Peugeot’s radical transformation into an attractive 100 per cent electric brand that sets new standards for design, driving pleasure and efficiency. With its exterior design, Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit, driving pleasure and unprecedented electric performance, the Next-Level E-3008 ushers Peugeot into a new era as the French brand offers the widest range of mainstream electric vehicles on the market.
UK pricing for the new 3008 has not yet been announced, although Peugeot has confirmed that hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants will come at a later stage.
