There were two fatal motorcycle accidents over the weekend, and one crash with serious injuries on Route 22A.
Killington Police said at 1:08 p.m. they were dispatched to Route 4 at the entrance to Pico Mountain Ski Resort for a car accident. Their investigation led them to believe that a vehicle traveling west on Route 4 turned left into the Pico Inlet when it was struck by a motorcycle traveling east.
The motorcyclist, Nicholas Lizotte, 34, of Rutland, died at the scene.
Police are still investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to contact them at 802-422-3200.

Police identified the driver of the other vehicle as Ross Gatcomb, 35, of Connecticut.
Another accident involving a motorcycle occurred earlier today in Castleton Four Corners. Castleton police said they were dispatched at 9:34 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash in which a Toyota Tacoma, driven by Harry Wagner, 69, of Stafford, Conn., collided with a motorcycle operated by Stanley Borucki, 56, of Pittsford. Wagner was traveling south on Route 30 and crossed into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with Borucki.
Borucki was taken by ambulance to the landing zone where he was then transported by helicopter to Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, where he was pronounced dead.
Wagner was cited for negligent operation resulting in death and is scheduled to appear in the Rutland County Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date. Castleton Police were assisted by the Vermont State Police Field Force, Vermont State Police Reconstruction Team, Fair Haven Police, Castleton Regional Ambulance, Castleton First Response, and Castleton Fire Department.
Meanwhile, State Police in Benson said the crash on Route 22A was caused by a driver who attempted to pass several vehicles while cresting the hill.
Police said the incident occurred on Friday at around 6:51 p.m. The passing vehicle was a 2002 Mazda MPV driven by James Hyde, of Summerfield, Florida. The car he crashed into was a 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by Philip Paradis, 35, of Rensselaer, New York.
Hyde was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland with minor injuries. His passenger, Terry Mejia, 37, was also taken there with serious injuries that police believe were not life-threatening.
Police did not release Hyde’s age, nor did they specify Mejia’s birthplace.
Paradis was also seriously injured and was taken to RRMC. Police believe his injuries are not life-threatening either. The two juvenile occupants of the Paradis were also taken to the hospital out of an abundance of caution.
Heide was cited to appear before the Criminal Division of Rutland County Superior Court on January 8, 2024 to answer a charge of gross negligence in operation of a motor vehicle.
State Police were assisted by Fair Haven Police, Fair Haven Rescue, Poultney EMS, Granville (New York) EMS and Benson Fire Department.
