All lanes are now open on the A1 motorway. Traffic has returned to normal levels.

Motorists have faced disruption on a main road in Lincolnshire due to a crash and a broken down lorry. Traffic was moving slowly in the area between Colsterworth and Easton on the A1.
Traffic monitoring website, Inrix, said the A1 was closed southbound from the B6403 (Woolsthorpe/Easton Turn Off, Woolsthorpe By Colsterworth) to Broadgate Road (South Witham/Thistleton Turn Off, Lobthorpe).
At the time, Lincolnshire Police tweeted: “ROAD CLOSED – The A1 southbound has been closed at Colsterworth following a serious collision. Please avoid the area or change your travel plans if possible. The area is very congested. We will update when we can.” “
It later emerged that a person was taken to hospital with serious injuries after two cars collided. The road has since been reopened.
