Volvo PH confirms the arrival of the all-electric C40 and XC40 Recharge next month

Both models are equipped with a 183 kW permanent magnet motor on the rear axle and an 11 kW asynchronous electric motor on the front axle.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge can drive up to 537 kilometers (km) on a single charge and the C40 Recharge can drive up to 549 km.
Dubbed the ‘twins’, the C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge feature features that showcase the Volvo DNA that runs through them.
Both vehicles are built on the same platform. Both are all-wheel drive models and are equipped with a 183 kilowatt (kW) permanent magnet motor on the rear axle and an 11 kW asynchronous electric motor on the front axle. The twin engines produce 408 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque.
Both vehicles also come with an 82 kWh battery, allowing the XC40 Recharge to reach up to 537 kilometers (km) on a single charge and the C40 Recharge to drive up to 549 km.
The two new models also feature a sleek and modern design, with a new front bumper and a frameless mesh panel. Both also come with signature Thor’s Hammer headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels.
To add distinction, the Volvo C40 is designed with a sloping roofline similar to a coupe, in addition to a different design for the taillight. It also has more front headroom, while the XC40 has better rear headroom.
Volvo Cars was the first widely recognized automaker to fully embrace electric vehicles. It aims to sell only fully electric cars by 2030. The next generation of Volvo models aims to raise the bar on safety, underscoring the company’s commitment to becoming an industry leader in this field.
In the Philippines, Volvo is the first luxury car brand to introduce hybrid vehicles. It also became the first luxury car brand to offer an all-electric vehicle lineup in the country, when it debuts a range of mild-hybrid models in 2022.
