Volvo reveals pricing for the updated 2024 C40 and XC40 Recharge EV
Volvo has announced pricing for its entire 2024 lineup, including the upgraded C40 and XC40 Recharge EVs. For the first time in 25 years, Volvo will offer a rear-wheel drive model in the United States, among other improvements.
Volvo has responded to the two biggest demands with its updated C40 and XC40 Recharge electric models – greater range and faster charging.
The automaker introduced 2024 models with newly developed in-house electric powertrain options.
Volvo’s new extended range C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge feature a 248 hp electric motor. The 2024 C40 and XC40 Recharge, equipped with an improved e-motor and a more energy-dense battery, can achieve up to 297 and 293 miles of EPA range, respectively.
With an improved 82 kWh battery pack, charging power has improved with the ability to charge your vehicle from 10% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes (200 kW DC).
The updated Twin Motor AWD variant also gets greater range with a new 255 hp electric motor at the rear and a 147 hp e-motor on the front axle.
The XC40 Recharge Twin Motor AWD has a range of 254 miles, 30 more than the outgoing model. Meanwhile, the C40 Recharge Twin has a range of 257 miles, compared to 226 miles previously.
The improved exterior design also contributes to improved efficiency. New 19-inch alloy wheels help reduce drag while improving appearance.
Volvo C40 and XC40 Recharge EV pricing upgrade for 2024
Volvo released pricing for the updated C40 and XC40 Recharge EV on Friday along with the entire 2024 model lineup.
The XC40 Recharge will start at $52,540, while the C40 Recharge is priced at $53,600. The higher-priced trims range from $55,000 to $60,000.
