There are two variants to choose from – the regular hybrid uses a 2.0-litre petrol engine to deliver around 50mpg, and is available in front- or all-wheel-drive formats.
There’s also an electric model that should be able to go about 270 miles between charges, which is the same as the mid-spec and similarly sized Volkswagen ID.3.
Both provide a smooth and responsive driving experience, and being a Lexus, there is a clear focus on comfort.
However, as it’s one of the brand’s smaller, less expensive options, it’s aimed at younger drivers with slightly more engaging control settings than some of the brand’s larger SUVs.
Is the Lexus NX a good SUV?
There have been two versions of the NX, and while the newer model offers more luxury and a higher-quality feel, both feel luxurious and are worthy of competing with something like the BMW X3.

Is the RX the best of the Lexus SUV range?

It’s the brand’s largest and most expensive SUV, so it’s packed with plenty of features that other smaller models don’t get.

You can even get a seven-seat version, badged RX L, but it’s best to reserve the rear seats for the kids.

In a world where many buyers want electric SUVs, the Lexus RZ makes a lot of sense. It’s much larger than the UX electric car, but not so large that it’s difficult to maneuver in tight parking lots.
It shares a lot of parts with the Toyota bZ4X, including a 71.4-kilowatt-hour battery that promises about 245 miles of range.
The two engines produce 313 horsepower and make the RZ an all-wheel drive model – there’s no option to purchase a front-wheel drive variant like the bZ4X.
There’s a massive 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a second digital driver’s display and a head-up display, all angled slightly towards the driver, which is intended to reduce distractions and make driving safer.
